Even after I switched my SG to the 50’s style it didn’t clean up as well as I’d heard and seen in Fil’s video’s. Here is my SG after I initially switched to 50’s wiring. Im thinking that im giong to do 50s wiring in my SG.

Nov 25, · Today I rewired my ’75 Gibson SG special to 50’s wiring using a orange drop for the neck and a Mallory for the bridge. Thats what I still had in a drawer from ordering parts earlier. Maybe I’ll order some oil in paper the next time.
The stock caps were cheap ceramic disks, not the kind of quality what I’d expect from Gibson but the rest of the wiring and the guitar is ace. Rolling back the volume with 50s wiring on a SG can make the sound a tad too thin if you are not careful (that’s what I think, at least – never tried it on mine, but I guess this is what would happen).
